About Me

My name is Kara Guno, and I am a play-by-play broadcaster who graduated from Rowan University. Since graduation, I have done play-by-play for The University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Lafayette, Drexel, Delaware, University of Wilmington and West Chester, calling field hockey, men's/women's soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball on ESPN+ and FloSports. Most recently, I  served as an Athletic Communication Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania as the direct communication contact for the women's soccer, men's tennis, softball, women's squash and National Champion men's squash team. In addition, I have maintained a continuous work status at the Philadelphia Eagles within the merchandise department. Throughout my time as a Prof, I was the lead play-by-play voice for Rowan University Athletics, called college athletics on the radio station Rowan Radio, and have done play-by-play for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the MiLB and the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G League. In addition, I was the Managing Editor and a sports writer for Rowan University's Newspaper, The Whit. On the production side, I was a producer for a Rowan University Sports Show called "Profs Huddle" in which I was in charge of creating the rundown and all of the content of the show. I have also anchored that show in addition to anchoring a show called "All Access" for the Rowan Television Network. I have also served as a camera operator for Rowan Athletics shooting football, volleyball, basketball and soccer. Lastly, in 2022 I was awarded with the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association scholarship, along with being nominated in the RTF Media Festival best TV/broadcast for the fourth episode of Profs Huddle. I was also awarded with the 2022 & 2023 Best Sports Commentator Award for Rowan Television Network and the 2023 Ric Edelman College of Communication and Creative Arts Excellence in Sports Communication and Media Award.
